Dragon LNG tests plant configurations in a live process model

At Dragon LNG’s regasification terminal in Wales, a live process model compares ways to run the plant and shows operators the most energy efficient configuration it finds.

AVEVA estimates 0.5–0.7 MW less energy use on average and about $1 million in potential annual savings. AtkinsRéalis separately identifies about 5% less electricity use, valued at approximately £500,000 annually. Neither source establishes an achieved cash saving.

Limits: The two suppliers use different metrics and currencies without a common basis. Do not add or reconcile them. Model agreement is not the share of recommendations operators adopted. No metered post-change savings, full costs or net ROI are disclosed.
