Aramco Digital and Qualcomm signed an MoU to explore edge AI on rugged devices, robots, drones, cameras and sensors connected through Aramco Digital's 450 MHz 5G industrial network. The register's AI-038 already lists Qualcomm as a partner; this adds the dated agreement source.
Aramco says it processes ~10 billion data points daily and is using AI to reprocess old seismic data, optimize autonomous drilling and detect pipeline corrosion. It is training 6,000+ AI developers with Imperial College, Caltech and KAUST, and partnered with Groq on a regional AI inferencing center.
